The kats are out of the bag

Mirakats (Meer-a-cat) are small fantasy feline like creatures. They stand around the size of a coyote, coming in all shapes, sizes, colors, and textures. All Mirakats are naturally genderless, however can use whatever pronouns they themselves choose.

 A Mirakat is born when an individual dies and is buried with a “pearled mask”. A short time after burial, a Mirakat will appear above that grave, believed to be the soul reborn. While retaining some habits or behaviors of their previous lives, Mirakats share no memory of such.

 A Mirakat can live up to 200 years, before their bodies are forced to regenerate. Upon death from old age or other means, a Mirakat’s body will burn up, remaking itself into a new body with new colors and/or patterns, with their mask the only piece remaining the same. Mirakats are widely considered to be immortal, however will become incapable of regeneration if their mask is destroyed.
